Burnham Beeches

"When great trees fall,

rocks on distant hills shudder,

lions hunker down

in tall grasses,

and even elephants

lumber after safety."

  1. Hi Ian!

I am a great fan of your pen and ink drawings! What paper and pen do you use? In my own sketches either the other side of the page shines through (thin but smooth paper) or the paper is too rough ...
What format is your sketch book?

    Thank you and best regards

    1. I use moleskin 9x14cm sketchbooks. The paper is relatively smooth and thick enough to prevent ink from bleeding through

  2. Nabbing that quote. "Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year." Thank you for sharing it, and your drawings. I was just gobsmacked by a little bush outside of my local coffee shop. And of course I might just be that crazy lady in the parking lot, drawing; after getting inspired by your posts. But while the color is still there, will add some watercolor to it as well. Thank you again for sharing your talents.
