Wakehurst Place and Ripley

"Rest is not idleness, to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summers day, listening to the murmer of water, or watching clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time."

(John Lubbock)

"To dwellers in a wood, almost every species of tree has its voice as well as its features."

(Thomas Hardy)

  1. The manner that you create depth within these glades of trees is impressive. The details of the branches are also well done.
To add to Hardy's quote, I think that each tree in a forest has its own particular voice or character - whether it attracts birds or not, how it sways in the breeze, whether it's thriving or just existing, etc.
