Richmond

"The monarch oak, the patriarch of trees.
Shoots rising up, and spreads by slow degrees.
Three centuries he grows, and three he stays
supreme in state; and in three more decays."

(John Dryden)

The angel cried with loud voice saying, hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees.

(Revelation 7:3)

  1. Lovely sketches, Ian. They celebrate the strength and beauty of these magnificent trees. Well done. However I have one question: Why did you choose not to complete the last two sketches? Both are truly well done but compel me to ask why left incomplete. Thanks and forgive my curiosity.

    1. I ran out of Time, but I quiet like unfinished drawings as they often enable you to see part of the process.
